Regg3 in Barcelona: The Road to Impact Exchange

16/10/2026

Every year the Regg3 team takes a few days away from the daily routine to decide together where to go next. The sixth Community Gathering took place from 27 to 29 September in Castelldefels, a few kilometres from Barcelona, and it had a clear name: Mission MOON. The goal was to bring closer the moment when Impact Exchange, the third tool of our platform, makes possible the first exchange between those who generate impact and those who can fund and support it.

Coming together as a team

We arrived on Sunday and spent the first evening on Nova Icària beach, where Barcelona was closing the Mercè festivities with the Piromusical, a fireworks show set to music. It was the best way to leave Milan’s deadlines behind and reconnect as a group before two days of intense work.

First of all, the client’s language

Monday opened with a reflection on language. A manufacturer, a foundation and a financial institution look at sustainability with different words and priorities, and the value of impact truly comes through when it is told in the language of those who live it every day. We therefore chose to build our story starting from the vocabulary of the people we work with, with short, concrete and immediate messages.

Who we are building for

Speaking our clients’ language also means knowing exactly who they are. Drawing on our experience with clients and on the market research carried out over recent months, we defined more precisely who we are building our solutions for: companies that want to show they create value in the territories where they operate, not only for their shareholders but for all their stakeholders, often prompted by regulation, investors or local communities; foundations and organisations that deliver social and environmental projects and want to show their results to those who support them; and organisations that start from an internal analysis, to meet reporting obligations or highlight the good practices they already have. Explorer, Proof and Exchange support each of them, in different ways and at different stages of their journey.

For each we clarified the value we can offer and the most suitable path through the platform, and set our priorities for 2027 accordingly.

The evolution of the platform

Part of the day was devoted to a collective review of the dashboards we build for clients, with the aim of making them even richer and easier to use. We worked in particular on biodiversity, with a species view that will show all available observations and their distribution, together with the method used to record each data point. We also explored the synergies between our impact models and Biodiversity Credits, and refined our estimates of seasonal employment, which are crucial in tourism-driven territories.

For us, data quality is the foundation of any credible measurement: every indicator must be traceable, up to date and understandable for those who use it.

The field test with Bolsalea

On Tuesday we welcomed an industry expert: the Marketing Strategist in the commercial department of Bolsalea, a B Corp-certified Spanish sustainable packaging company that entrusts part of its production to people with disabilities and women in vulnerable situations. Her challenge is shared by many impact-driven companies: the social value of the products is real, but it needs to become visible and recognisable to clients.

The conversation produced a valuable lesson. Impact data becomes decisive when it reaches organisations that share the same values and are looking for suppliers able to prove them. Together with Bolsalea we explored how our tools can trace the social impact linked to its products and connect it with the most like-minded clients, and this is exactly the connection Impact Exchange aims to build.

A basket to open

Monday’s closing session also gave birth to an image we have used ever since to explain our work: the basket of fruit covered with a cloth. Many people today fund projects without knowing what they contain, while the value lies in the fruit, the concrete change those projects produce. The metaphor summed up what we had discussed: simple language, different needs for each client and verifiable results.

Setting course for the moon

We came back to Milan with a clear course: connecting the organisations that generate impact with those that want to support it, starting from the territories and needs we know best. This is where the first Impact Exchange transaction will come from, opening the way for all the ones that follow.
